Hluboká nad Vltavou
HLUBOKÁ NAD VLTAVOU, one of the most popular chateaux in the Czech Republic, is definitely one of the most beautiful. In fact, it was officially stated the most beautiful mansion of the Czech Republic in the 19th century. The original castle was built on the site in the 13th century, however it has been rebuilt several times and its current appearance is very much in the style of romantic Tudor Gothic architecture. The castle features eleven towers and bastions, a summer pavilion, and a winter garden. The riding school building houses an art gallery, and the castle complex is surrounded by an extensive English park.
Some 15 km from Hluboká the another architectural gem is worth a visit – the UNESCO listed village of HOLAŠOVICE from the 13th century is considered a pearl of rural Baroque architecture.
