About the destination:
Jáchymov was founded as a royal town in 1516 and thanks to the rich silver mines it soon became one of the most populated towns in Bohemia. The first curative spring came to life in 1864 and the first spa facility opened in Jáchymov before the end of the century. The spa centre is situated in the lower part of the town, while the northern part is the former
mining town with a number of preserved historical monuments from the 16th century. A cable way takes visitors up to Klínovec Mountain with a viewing tower. Klínovec is also a popular ski resort, together with another two – Boží Dar and Plešivec – in the area.
